Questions people actually ask

Short answers, plain words. If yours is not here, just ask us — nobody minds.

Visiting

Coming in

Do I have to buy anything?

No. You can look, sit, warm up, make something, or say nothing at all. There is no purchase expected and no reason needed.

Where are you?

417 Tranquille Road, on Kamloops’ North Shore. Map and directions →

When are you open?

We're small and volunteer-run, so our hours move. Message us on Instagram or email us before you come and we'll tell you when we're in.

Is the studio accessible?

Tell us what you need before you come and we will describe the space honestly — including anything that would make it hard. We would rather you know in advance than arrive and find out.

Buying art

How sales work

How much of the price goes to the artist?

70%, every time. The remaining 30% pays the rent, the lights, and the supplies that keep the space open for everyone. It makes the budget hard. It also makes the mission real.

How do I buy something?

Tap “Inquire to buy” on any piece in the gallery and we will confirm availability, payment, and how to get it to you. Or just come in — the full collection is on the walls.

Is everything on the website?

No. The website shows what we have had a chance to photograph and list. There is always more on the walls.

Do you ship?

You can collect your piece at the studio, 417 Tranquille Rd. If that does not work for you, ask us and we will sort something out together.

Showing your work

For artists

Can I show my art here?

Yes. Housed or not, trained or not, first time or hundredth. Apply here → — or come in and talk to us.

Who sets the price?

You do. Artists name and price their own work.

Will you put my work online without asking?

No. Nothing goes on this website until the artist has said yes to it being shown and, separately, to it being sold online.

Do you use AI-generated art?

Never. Every image of artwork on this site is a real piece made by a real person. That is a rule, not a preference.

Supporting us

Donations

Can you give me a tax receipt?

No — we cannot issue tax receipts for donations. We would rather say that plainly than let anyone find out at tax time.

Where does the money actually go?

70% of every art sale goes straight to the artist who made it. The rest, and every donation, keeps the doors open.

The 30% and every donation go to rent, utilities, and art supplies — the things that keep a storefront open and the materials free to use. We are working on publishing a proper breakdown.

What do you need most?

Steady monthly gifts, however small, and art supplies. Ways to give →

Can I volunteer?

Yes, and you do not need any particular skill. Tell us what you would like to do →

Can we hold our meeting or group at the studio?

Often, yes — meetings, support groups, and social justice work are welcome. Email us about the space →

Still wondering something?

Ask us. If we cannot help, we usually know who can.
